Liao graduated from Taipei Industrial Collage and majored in
chemical engineering, especially in resins and polymers
manufacturing technology. He believed in the concept of “Trading and Manufacturing in joint
force”, and consequently
established Loyal Chemical Ind. Crop. in
Kaoshiung county of southern Taiwan in
August of 1976. The factory produces Expandable
Polystyrene (EPS), Furan Resin (FR), and Phenolic Resins (PF) for the
plastics, packaging, and foundry industries, which marked the
beginning of joint effort of trading and manufacturing.
Mainland China started its economical reform around 20 years ago. The demand in plastics market also increased very quickly, during which Loyal products started its way into the mainland China market. Until now, King Pearl EPS is still well known brand name in Mainland China. The productions of Ningbo He-Qiao Chemical in October of 1993 has contributed a great deal to that.
With the success of He-Qiao, it wasn't long before Loyal expanded its manufacturing capability in China. In 1994, Loyal teamed-up with China's largest Pentane factory, the Kong Kou Industrial company, to found the Long Xin Chemical Industrial Corporation. Although the local partner was already producing Pentane, Loyal used its investment and manufacturing expertise to build a new factory, as the former one did not meet Loyal's standards. All new equipment, including automated machinery, was brought in and the factory's staff was trained in the latest manufacturing processes.
From now, Jiang Yin Xin-He-Qiao Chemical, will start its EPS production. The total capacity of EPS of Loyal Group will reach 135,000 MT per annum, which will be the single largest EPS manufacturing company in Asia. Depending upon the market reaction and demand, Xin-He-Qiao may start its 2nd phase expansion at any time, which will double its current capacity. This is the goal that the shareholders and employees of the entire Loyal Group are pursuing and hoping to see to achieve.

GPPC(Grand Pacific Petrochemical 国喬石化
GPPC has continuously pursued expansion and diversification since its founding in 1973. Starting with styrene monomer, commonly known as SM, GPPC and its subsidiaries have gradually broadened the product line to include SM, ABS, SAN, PS, and H2. Currently, GPPC has two SM plants with a total annual capacity of 330,000 metric tons, an ABS/SAN plant producing 80,000 metric tons per annum and a hydrogen plant with a capacity of 600 cubic meters per hour. In addition, two GPPC's subsidiaries, GPPC chemical and BC chemical, are engaged in the polystyrene (PS) production with a combined annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons. Anticipating the regional fast growth, GPPC invested in Grand Pacific Chemical (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and founded Zhenjiang GPPC Chemical Co., Ltd.(China) for the ABS production in 1991 and 1996, respectively.

Taiwan Rubber Maker TSRC To Acquire Dexco Polymers For US$168 Million
Taiwanese synthetic rubber maker TSRC Corp. said it would pay US$168 million to acquire Dexco Polymers Operating Company LLC and Dexco Polymers LP in a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange on Friday.
In a second statement, also released Friday, TSRC said the acquisition would help it to upgrade its technology, provide its customers a wider array of products, and diversify its customer base across Asia, Europe and the Americas. It also said the agreement still needs to be approved by U.S. and Taiwan regulators and estimated that could happen by the second quarter of 2011.
TSRC makes commodity synthetic rubber for car tires and specialty thermoplastic elastomer products which are used in adhesives, industrial compounds, and shoes.
Dexco Polymers LP is an affiliate of Dow Chemical Company and ExxonMobil Chemical and produces SBS and SIS rubber products.
Dexco Polymers LP, a limited partnership of affiliates of the Dow Chemical Company and ExxonMobil Chemical Company, produces both SIS and SBS products from its dedicated facilities in Plaquemine, Louisiana.
Dexco Polymers' offers pure linear SIS (styrene-isoprene-styrene) triblocks, pure linear SIS/SI triblock/diblock blends, pure linear SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) triblocks, oil extended linear SBS triblocks and radial styrene-butadiene (SB)n and (SI)n products.
Dexco Polymers LP is currently (in 2009) celebrating its 20th anniversary as a 50/50 joint venture of The Dow Chemical Company and ExxonMobil Chemical.
The plant was built for about $20 million at Dow’s Plaquemine complex after a joint venture was formed between ExxonMobil and Dow in 1988.
Dexco products are used as asphalt modifiers in roofing and construction and are components in pressure sensitive tapes and other adhesives and sealants.
